Gene.
I’m an independent animator and digital storyteller based in Irvine, California. I create Stickman: Epic Legends — an action-and-humor series about the legendary hero of Animation Island, watched by 100K+ subscribers — and run the whole pipeline from my studio, Gene Kelly Animates.
From a basic sketch to a beloved icon — built one frame at a time.
Stick figure animation has carved out its own distinctive niche, and Stickman sits right at the front of it. He began as a figure of minimalist lines and shapes, but that simplicity is exactly the point: it leaves all the room in the world for extraordinary adventures.
His humor and relatability resonate with kids and adults alike, which is what turned a doodle into a character people come back for. Every episode of Stickman: Epic Legends is a chance to push the action further, sharpen the comedy, and deepen the world of Animation Island.
